Network Maintenance

All COIRS System Users:

XO Communications has notified us they will be doing upgrades to the network switches that support our system on Tuesday 07/31 starting at 01:00 and lasting until 03:00. There will be and expected outage of 30 to 60 minutes during this time frame that will cause the consoles to lose connection and the system to go into site trunking. Dispatchers will need to use back up radios/walkies during this outage. Field units will receive the "SITE TRUNKING" notice on their radios, but can continue to operate on their normal talk-groups.

A reminder notice will be sent to all users on Monday 07/30.

Tower Maintenance Scheduled

Weather permitting over the next three weeks, Tri-County Tower Service out of North Jackson, Ohio will conduct a preventive maintenance inspection of the Huntley Road tower. This is a structural inspection and will not effect radio service. It is recommended that a complete structural inspection of the towers be conducted every three to four years. The inspection report will be posted when complete.

Huntley Tower Outage

On Wednesday May 16th at 11:00, Worthington PD was notified that the T1 line to the Huntley Road tower had been knocked down. This is an air line that runs from the roadway, across the QuickCrete property and to the tower site shelter. This effectively put the Huntley Road tower off line. XO was notified and had the line repaired at 20:15 the same day. The Huntley tower is back on line and in full service.
